There are many different kinds of friendship bracelets, ranging from the easiest ones to the difficult and tricky ones. One such friendship bracelet type is candy striped friendship bracelets. Candy stripe friendship bracelets are the easiest of bracelets that can be designed at home with ease. Even a first time maker can create it very easily. If one wishes to make a candy stripe bracelet, he or she can find many books on bracelet making available in the markets, and can search for the designs, tips and instructions to make online as well.
What material and tools you will need to make a candy stripe friendship bracelet? All you would need is embroidery thread, masking tape, safety pins, and a clip board, scissors, and measuring tape. The color of the embroidery floss depends on your choice and liking about colors.
How to make a candy stripe friendship bracelet?
The method can be divided into several different small steps. Start by cutting three strands of thread. Each strand should be of different color of the embroidery floss. The length of each strand should be approximately three feet. Measure the length using a measuring tape.
Hold all the strands together with a firm grip. You will need to tie the strands from one end to keep the strands in position while making a bracelet. The tail of the tied end or the knot should be approximately three inches long. Now you will have the rest of the strands freely hanging from the knot.
For keeping the strands fixed to some point in order to have a support while you are making the bracelet, either fix it with the clipboard, masking tape on the table or with your pants using safety pins. Spread the threads evenly.
The leftmost strand of the embroidery thread should be brought over the second strand and then behind it, and then bring it to the front of thread one. This will make a half hitch knot. Use the same thread to knot around the second strand and then on third strand. Then use the first thread to tie the knots and then use thread 4 and 5 for the knots. This will make the left most strands, now the right most strands.
You will now have a different colored strand to be the leftmost strand. Use the same procedure with it to complete the other row. Continue until all the strands are used for the rows. When you have the right length for your bracelet, stop repeating the procedure and tie a knot at the other free end of the bracelet.
